Juneteenth Hours of Operation

Juneteenth commemorates June 19, 1865, when Union General Gordon Granger shared General Order No. 3, marking freedom for enslaved people in Texas — two-and-a half years after Abraham Lincoln’s Emancipation Proclamation, which had little effect due to the Civil War.

Today, Juneteenth symbolizes a commitment to work toward an inclusive future. In honor of this national holiday, city administrative offices are closed today, Thursday, June 19. See below for a list of city locations and services and their hours of operation during the holiday:

  • War Memorial Youth Center: 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
  • Adult Activity Center: 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
  • Salvadore Tennis Center and William H. Kerdyk, Sr. Biltmore Tennis Center: 7 a.m. to 9 p.m.
  • Granada Golf Course: 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
  • Country Club Athletic Club and Pool: 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • Passport Office: Closed
  • Trolley: 6:30 a.m. to 10 p.m.
  • Freebee: 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.
