Peter J. Iglesias, P.E. was first appointed as City Manager of Coral Gables on September 25, 2018. He served through February 2024 and was reinstated May 2025. In this role, he oversees a municipal government serving more than 50,000 residents and leading a team of 1,100 employees. Iglesias manages an operating budget of $226 million and a five-year capital plan of $399 million. As the city's top administrator, he reports directly to the mayor and four city commissioners, ensuring the effective delivery of services and the execution of strategic initiatives.

Prior to his initial selection as City Manager, Iglesias served as Assistant City Manager of Operations and Infrastructure for two years. Before joining Coral Gables, he served as the Senior Director of Building, Planning, and Zoning, Historical and IT Integration at the City of Miami.

He has more than 35 years of management experience in both the private and public sectors and was recognized as Engineer of the Year for his professionalism and commitment to advancing the role of engineers by the Association of Cuban American Engineers (ACAE). Iglesias is a University of Miami graduate with a degree in structural engineering.
