Amos Rojas, Jr. was appointed City Manager of Coral Gables on Feb. 27, 2024. In this role, Rojas, Jr. oversees a municipal government of more than 51,000 residents and 1,100 employees. He manages an operating budget of $195 million and a five-year capital plan of $220 million and is the city’s top administrator reporting to the Mayor and four City Commissioners.

Prior to this role, Rojas, Jr. was the US Marshal for the Southern District of Florida from 2014 to 2018, overseeing federal law enforcement activities across Broward, Miami-Dade, Highlands, Indian River, Martin, Monroe, Okeechobee, Palm Beach and St. Lucie counties.

Prior to his appointment as US Marshal, Rojas, Jr. served as Deputy Director of the Miami-Dade County State Attorney’s Office’s South Florida Money Laundering Strike Force between 2012 and 2014. In this role, he was instrumental in spearheading efforts to combat money laundering, enhancing the integrity of the region's financial systems.

From 2003 to 2011, Rojas, Jr. was the Special Agent in Charge of the Miami Regional Operations Center for the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE). His responsibilities included leading investigations in four counties, as well as serving on the FBI Joint Terrorism Task Force. Rojas, Jr.'s career with the FDLE began in 1987, marking a significant portion of his professional life dedicated to public service and law enforcement. Over 16 years, he developed a comprehensive understanding of criminal justice and law enforcement operations, as demonstrated by his graduation from the FBI National Academy in 2002.

Before joining the FDLE, Rojas, Jr.'s career in law enforcement started with roles as an Investigative Supervisor in the Miami-Dade State Attorney’s Office, and his service on the Huntsville (Alabama), South Miami, and Miami-Dade Police Departments.

A graduate of the University of Alabama in Huntsville, Rojas, Jr. holds a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice.
