The City of Coral Gables continuously strives to be a leader in sustainability, green-initiatives, and recycling. Did you know we have an 8% contamination rate compared to other municipalities and cities which have a typical rate of 35-40%? Thank you for keeping the City Beautiful, beautiful.

Recycling guidelines:

  • Do not place recycling outdoors until the night before your collection day.Map of recycling days pickup. Broken into 4 blocks the southern most section is monday, then moving north the next section is Tuesday followed by sections for thursday and friday.
  • Keep recyclables clean, dry, and empty.
  • Do not bag recyclable items—leave them loose in red bins.
  • Flatten or deconstruct cardboard boxes, and place them by your recycling bin. Do not place cardboard in your trash pit.
  • In the event you have an excess amount of cardboard to discard of, please call the Solid Waste Division and arrange a special pickup.
  • When in doubt, leave it out!

What day will my recycling be picked up?

What CAN be recycled?

  • Narrow-neck plastic bottles and containers
  • Flattened cardboard and paper
  • Glass bottles and containers
  • Cleaned cans (aluminum, steel, and tin)

What CAN NOT be recycled?Recycling program accepts narrow neck plastic bottles, flattened cardboard, glass bottles, and alumninum, steel and tin cans. Items NOT accepted are plastic bags and styrofoam.

Does the City provide recycling bins?

  • Yes, the City provides residents with two 14-gallon recycling bins.

How do I know what day my recycling will be picked up?

My recycling was not picked up, who do I call and what can I do?

  • To report a missed pickup, please create a service request online or call the Solid Waste Division at (305) 460-5346.
