The City of Coral Gables is casting a festive spell this Halloween season, with wickedly fun events happening from Saturday, Oct. 17, through Saturday, Oct. 31.

Saturday, Oct. 17
Pumpkin Patch at Ponce Circle Park
2 to 6 p.m. Choose from hundreds of pumpkins and enjoy decorating, face painting, live music, a harvest market, food and family photo spots.
Sunday, Oct. 18
Bike to Pinewood Cemetery
10 to 1 a.m. Take a bike tour through Pinewood Cemetery, the oldest cemetery south of the Miami River and the final resting place of many of Miami-Dade County’s earliest pioneer settlers. Costumes encouraged!

Friday, Oct. 23
Adult Activity Center Halloween Spooktacular
1 to 4 p.m.: The Adult Activity Center, 2 Andalusia Ave., hosts an afternoon of refreshments, music and Halloween fun.
Saturday, Oct. 24
Kiddo-Ween Festival | 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The Coral Gables Museum, 285 Aragon Ave., hosts its inaugural festival with trick-or-treating, character appearances, a pumpkin patch and photo opportunities.
Gentle Trick or Treat
1 to 3 p.m. Families with children who may have sensory needs can enjoy trick-or-treating, photos and a storybook walk in a calm setting at Ruth Bryan Owen Waterway Park, 3940 Granada Blvd.
Pumpkin Float at the Country Club
6 to 8 p.m. Carve a pumpkin, enjoy snacks and watch jack-o’-lanterns float from the Coral Gables Country Club pool at 990 Alhambra Circle. Prizes will recognize the scariest, most creative and cutest carvings.

Wicked
7:30 p.m. See the Academy Award-winning film about two witches of Oz before their lives take different paths following an encounter with the Wonderful Wizard of Oz on the Gables Cinema screen at 260 Aragon Ave. Learn more at www.gablescinema.com.

Nightmare on 405 Haunted House
6:30 to 9:30 p.m. The gym at the War Memorial Youth Center becomes a haunted house for visitors seeking Halloween thrills, 405 University Drive.

7 p.m. Tee up for a frightening fun time at the Granada Golf Course, 2001 Granada Blvd., benefitting the Coral Gables Woman’s Club philanthropic efforts.

Saturday, Oct. 31
Halloween brings a full day of events downtown:
- 2 p.m.: The Wizard of Oz at Actors’ Playhouse at the Miracle Theatre, 280 Miracle Mile. Learn more at www.actorsplayhouse.org.
- 2 p.m.: Halloween dog costume contest at the Coral Gables Museum, 285 Aragon Ave.
- 3 to 6 p.m.: Trick-or-Treat on the Mile. Local, designated businesses along Miracle Mile will have treats for eager trick-or-treaters. Face painting and balloon art takes place at 3:30 p.m. and a magic show at 5 p.m.
- 3:45 p.m.: Spooktacular Performance by the Actors’ Playhouse Musical Miracles at Actors’ Playhouse at the Miracle Theatre, 280 Miracle Mile.
- 4:30 p.m.: Actors’ Playhouse Kiddie Costume Parade at Actors’ Playhouse at the Miracle Theatre, 280 Miracle Mile.
- 4 to 9 p.m.: Day of the Dead celebration at Ponce Circle Park, 2810 Ponce de Leon Blvd., presented by the Consulate of Mexico, with traditional performances, music, dance and food.
- 6 p.m.: Y2K Halloween party with music and costumes at Books & Books, 265 Aragon Ave. Learn more at www.booksandbooks.com.
- 6 p.m.: Drink-or-Treat, a self-guided happy hour crawl for adults 21 and older at participating Miracle Mile businesses featuring Halloween-themed drink specials.
