Join Coral Gables Art Cinema for the opening night event of the documentary 'Razing Liberty Square' on Friday, Jan. 26. The evening will commence with a reception at 7 p.m., followed by the film screening and a Q&A session at 8 p.m.
At the heart of Liberty City is the Liberty Square housing project, the first segregated public housing project in the South. The new documentary from Oscar-nominated filmmaker Katja Esson begins at the very moment when Liberty Square is being razed to the ground to make way for the “New Liberty Square”: a $300 million mixed-income development.
