Coral Gables Art Cinema presents a screening of "One Night in Miami", followed by a panel discussion with Dr. Marvin Dunn, author and historian, and Curb Gardner, CEO of the Historic Hampton House.

Set on the evening of Feb. 25, 1964, the film imagines a pivotal meeting in Miami after Cassius Clay defeated Sonny Liston to become world heavyweight champion. In a modest motel room, Clay, who would soon change his name to Muhammad Ali, gathered with human rights activist Malcolm X, singer Sam Cooke and football star Jim Brown. The story explores the personal and political conversations that unfolded among four influential figures during a defining moment in American history.

Directed by Regina King and written by Kemp Powers, the film is based on Powers’ award-winning stage play.
