Coral Gables Art Cinema presents special screenings of "Natchez", followed by a Q&A with director Suzannah Herbert.
Set in Natchez, Miss., the documentary examines the tension between history and memory in a town where the legacy of the antebellum South remains deeply embedded in daily life. Through a mosaic of voices and encounters, the film observes a community at a crossroads as it wrestles with how its past is remembered, interpreted and presented.
At times unsettling and darkly humorous, the film explores how unresolved history continues to shape the present, raising questions about whether the past is ever truly past.
“Natchez” had its world premiere at the Tribeca Festival in 2025, where it received the Best Documentary Feature award.
