The Consulate General of Mexico in Miami and the City of Coral Gables present the third edition of the renowned celebration of Día de Muertos (Day of the Dead) on Saturday, Oct. 29 from 4 to 9 p.m. The event will be led by Consul General Jonathan Chait and Mayor Vince Lago.

The program includes for the first time in South Florida the projection of an interactive map, the performance of the outstanding company Prehispánica with their show “The birth of Quetzalcoatl”; the catrinas and catrines contest, and the traditional procession of people of different nationalities honoring the faithfully departed. Attendees will be able to enjoy music and dance from different regions of Mexico, among which include the mariachi Mi México, and the folk groups Tloke Nahuake, Ameyal, and Azteca.

For the Consulate General of Mexico, the celebration of the Day of the Dead is part of the cultural diplomacy that upholds the ancestral wealth of indigenous and pre-Hispanic populations.
