Additional Information

Landscape Beautification Advisory Board - Community Engagement

The Landscape Beautification Advisory board* issues residential landscape beautification awards to property owners to reward aesthetic beauty and environmental stewardship in residential landscapes throughout the city each year.

Each member of the board selects one zone of the city to canvas for nominations of gardens that meet the judging criteria. The board convenes to vote and selects one award winner for each zone.

The winning citizens are notified by mail and invited to accept their awards in person at a commission meeting each April, which is international Landscape Architecture month, as well as the month of Arbor Day.
