Accessibility and Improvements
Coral Gables trolley stops are getting more accessible. ADA improvements to stops along Ponce de Leon Blvd. from south of San Lorenzo Avenue to Douglas Road will add benches, trash receptacles and bike racks to enhance the rider experience for riders of all abilities. Some stops will receive shaded shelters.
Affected stops will be barricaded. Passengers will be picked up from the closest and safest accessible area to the trolley stop. Project began July 21.
Coral Gables works to be accessible for all including the trolley. Learn more about the trolley's accessibility services on the link below.
Title VI Program Plan for Trolley Services [PDF]Southern Loop Trolley Pilot
The City of Coral Gables launched a one-year pilot of a new Southern Loop Trolley route Nov. 3, 2025. This free route will extend trolley service from the Douglas Road Metrorail Station to Red Road (SW 57 Ave.) via Ponce de Leon Blvd., improving access to key destinations including the University of Miami, medical offices, schools, and other community hubs. See the stops below.
Southern Loop Trolley Stops [PDF]The route is a no-cost option to get to and from the UM campus and connects with Metrorail and the two other Coral Gables trolley routes. Learn more about the Southern Loop Trolley Pilot.
The city will monitor ridership and feedback to decide if the route will continue beyond the pilot year. Community use and feedback will shape its future.
