Fleet Week - Wave of Music

The Navy Band returns to the City Beautiful with four free concerts during Fleet Week this May. A wave of music will wash over the Gables as the Navy Band Southeast performs a slew of genres from New Orleans jazz to pop music and more. The concerts will give the community an opportunity to learn about the Navy, its sailors and its importance to national security and prosperity. Don’t miss these unique experiences!

Picnic Concert at McBride

Kick off Fleet Week with a picnic concert on Miracle Mile and enjoy the beats of today’s popular songs as performed by Pride, Navy Band Southeast’s Popular Music Group. Bring your lounge chairs and picnic blankets. Stop by a Gables restaurant to grab a to-go lunch to enjoy with the music. 

Jazz Waves at Venetian Pool

Smooth jazz tones will flood the Venetian Pool as the Navy’s VIP Jazz Combo performs a unique evening concert at the pool. Local food truck vendors will provide delicious bites and drinks for purchase. 

Water Above, Wind Below

The Navy’s Fair Winds Woodwind Quintet will perform under “The Water Below Us” art installation on Giralda Plaza on May 10. Enjoy these wonderful wind melodies while dining at one of the many restaurants lining the Plaza. 

Evening Waves at the Coral Gables Museum

Turn up the music as Pride, the Navy Band Southeast’s Popular Music Group, closes out Fleet Week in the Gables with a lively concert in the heart of the downtown. A cash bar and coffee cart will be available. 


Since its establishment in 1995, Navy Band Southeast has been dedicated to providing top quality musical support throughout the Southeastern United States for Commander, Navy Region Southeast. Under the direction of Lieutenant Junior Grade Nicholas Nadal, the band is located onboard Naval Air Station Jacksonville, and serves the military and civilian communities.
