Coral Gables, FL – The City of Coral Gables’ Beautification Task Force is expanding enforcement efforts in North Gables, addressing illegal dumping, property maintenance, graffiti, trash and other quality-of-life concerns.
Maintaining the beauty and character of our neighborhoods requires a coordinated effort, and our Beautification Task Force is working to identify concerns and address them quickly. We are increasing our presence in the area, using technology to help identify illegal dumping and working with property owners and city departments to keep North Gables clean, safe and well maintained.
Since July 29, the task force has created 122 new cases to address various issues throughout North Gables. The task force has also increased enforcement patrols, deploying a team of three to four officers, multiple times per week to inspect areas, identify concerns and coordinate appropriate action.
As part of the city’s efforts to address illegal dumping, seven additional surveillance cameras have been installed at identified hot spots. The city now has 45 illegal dumping cameras, including 27 located north of Navarre.
The most common issues being addressed by the task force include commercial property maintenance, illegal dumping, dirty sidewalks and illegally placed signs.
The Beautification Task Force was established to help reduce illegal dumping in the public right of way, encourage property owners to maintain their properties to city standards and expeditiously address graffiti and trash on public and private property. The task force also works with city departments and vendors to address other quality-of-life issues throughout the area.
