June 6, 2026 - Simpson Park and South Miami Avenue Walking Tour
10 a.m. - 12 p.m.: Simpson Park and South Miami Avenue Walking Tour presented by Dade Heritage Trust. View and learn about a South Florida natural hammock and the historic poinciana-lined South Miami Avenue. Start at Simpson Park, finish at Simpson Park. Meet at 5 SW 17th Road., Miami, FL 33129. Free, but donations to Dade Heritage Trust are welcome.

Sunday, June 7, 2026 -Walking Tour of Jean Willis Park
10 a.m. - Noon: Walking Tour of Jean Willis Park, the county's first flowering tree park, which was planted by the Tropical Flowering Tree Society in 1992, followed by a supplemental planting in 2014. The tour will feature yellow- and orange-flowering poincianas and other tropical flowering trees, and it will be led by Steve Pearson, who was involved in both the original and the supplemental plantings. Easy walk, garden party of light bites to follow. The address of the Park is 7220 SW 61st Court, South Miami, FL 33143, and this part of SW 61st Court can only be reached from SW 72nd Street (Sunset Drive). The park is just west of the city hall and police station and guests can park free in the city parking lot in the spaces facing SW 72nd Street, or other spaces in the lot so long as they are not reserved for employees or city officials.

Sunday, June 7 - Poinciana Festival Celebration Party and Reception
6 - 9 p.m.: Poinciana Festival Celebration Party and Reception in the Garden House of Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden, 10901 Old Cutler Road, Coral Gables. Starting at 6 p.m., trolley tours of the Garden and special display of works by Magnus Sodamin, one of Miami's premier landscape interdisciplinary artists, who also created the painting used in our 2026 Royal Poinciana Festival Poster. Starting at 7 p.m., a delicious potluck dinner will be served, and at approximately 7:30 PM, presentations will begin for the 2026 Royal Poinciana Festival Queen and Court scholarship recipients and the Larry Schokman Book Award recipient. Royal Poinciana cake and the famous Royal Poinciana Punch will be served at the end of the presentations. Limited-edition Royal Poinciana Festival posters will be available for sale, and educational displays will be present. This event is free and open to the public, but guests are requested to bring a dish to share or to make a donation. New memberships in the Tropical Flowering Tree Society are encouraged. Park and enter at the Fairchild South Entrance on Old Cutler Road (the old, traditional entrance to Fairchild). See you at the celebration! All proceeds of these events will be used for scholarships for young women in horticulture or related fields and to further the mission of the Tropical Flowering Tree Society.

Monday, June 8 - Painting Royal Poinciana Trees
A “cocktail party with a paintbrush.” Join in for a fun and educational experience painting Royal Poinciana Trees at this unique event. No previous art experience is necessary, and all supplies are included. Take home a wonderful DIY painting! This event features a reduced price of $35 per person, and reservations are required as limited seats are available. Wine and light refreshments will be served. With assistance from the Miami Art Club, this event will take place at Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden (10901 Old Cutler Road, Coral Gables) in Room A of the Corbin Building. Park and enter at the Fairchild South Entrance on Old Cutler Road (the old, traditional entrance to Fairchild).

Thursday, June 11 - Royal Poinciana Musical Afternoon
4:30-6 p.m.: The Coral Gables Music Club is presenting a concert at Steinway Piano Gallery featuring rising young artists: Zoe Aldana, Nicolas Marin Fumero, Shanming He, and Mason Lang. Enjoy a special performance of the Poinciana "Song of the Tree." Enjoy a reception afterwards with prosecco and empanadas (apple juice for kids). Saturday, June 13 - Poinciana Tree Planting
8 a.m. - 12 p.m.: The Tropical Flowering Tree Society and TREEmendous Miami would like you to join us to help plant flowering trees! We will be planting 18 Royal Poinciana trees at the Miami Springs Golf and Country Club, and 1 Cassia bakeriana tree at the historic and recently restored Curtiss Mansion. Volunteers should meet at 8 a.m. at the Miami Springs Golf Course, 650 Curtis Parkway, Miami Springs, Florida 33166. Wear closed shoes, sun protection, and register on the link or by calling Steve Pearson at 305-233-3619. Refreshments and snacks will be provided.
Sunday, June 14 - Poinciana Bike Tour
10 a.m. - 1 p.m.: Bike tour led by Bike Walk Coral Gables and Dade Heritage Trust. Celebrate the magnificent Poinciana, a/k/a Flame Tree or Flamboyant, with the whole family on this tour of some of our best Royal Poincianas in full flower. Make it a family event. It starts at the Coral Gables Museum, 285 Aragon Avenue, Coral Gables.. Bring your own bike. Parking is available in a nearby garage or on the street. Cost: Adults $10, Children under 12 $5.
Sunday, June 14 - The Royal Poinciana Trolley Tour
2-5 p.m. The Royal Poinciana Trolley Tour begins at the Coral Gables Library, 3443 Segovia Street, highlighting the best trees and blossoms of the 2026 season. Narrated by two poinciana experts of the Tropical Flowering Tree Society. Tickets $25 per person. Seating is limited to two trolleys. Purchase your tickets at www.royalp.org in advance. Free parking is available in the parking lot next to the library.
