The Opera Atelier joins Arts Ballet Theatre of Florida to present Spain, My Love: Opera Meets Ballet, a vibrant celebration of Spanish heritage. The evening opens with the world premiere of Juana Inés, a one-act opera about Sor Juana Inés de la Cruz, the brilliant intellectual of the Spanish Colonial era, as she seeks harmony between faith and knowledge. With libretto by Daniel Daroca and music by Venezuelan composer Federico Ruiz, the opera features Voices of Miami. The program continues with two ballets: Tarde en la Siesta, choreographed by Alberto Méndez to music by Lecuona, and Viva España, choreographed by Vladimir Issaev to music by Massenet.
