Sunshine Meeting

Please all take notice that in accordance with City of Coral Gables Code Section 2-30 and Chapter 286.011, there will be a Sunshine Meeting regarding septic to sewer, a neighborhood discussion, Riviera 2 and Riviera 4 Basins, on Wednesday, September 30, 2026, beginning at 5:30 p.m. through 7 p.m., at Temple Judea, 5500 Granada Boulevard, Coral Gables, Fl 33146, for the purpose of discussing environmental protection, public health concerns, infrastructure improvements and obtain resident input. 

The meeting may be attended by members of the city commission and city staff.  Pursuant to the Sunshine Law, the meeting is open to attendance by members of the public, minutes will be taken and made publicly available.

Why?

Environmental Protection: To address the negative impacts of aging septic systems which can release pollutants into soils, groundwater and surface waters.

Public Health Concerns: To improve wastewater management and reduce risks to public health caused by failing or outdated septic systems.

Infrastructure Improvements: To outline the benefits of transitioning to a modern sewer system and the long-term cost savings for residents.

Resident Input: To gather community feedback on the proposed plans to ensure transparency and resident involvement.
