The Adult Activity Center (AAC) has a series of fun-filled events to celebrate National Senior Citizens Week.
All events are free with registration. Register early as space is limited.
For each event attended you will be entered into the AAC Senior Week Raffle. Raffle winners will be announced on Friday at the End of Summer Ice Cream Social.

Monday, August 18
- 10 a.m. - noon: Coffee, pastelitos, and volunteers from Serving Health Insurance Needs of Elders (S.H.I.N.E.) will be available to answer questions about Medicare, Medicaid, and health insurance.
- 1 p.m.: Concerned with memory loss? Join the COGIT-2 Study with Dr. Philip Harvey and activities such as memory tests, brain MRI scans, crossword puzzles, and health education.
Tuesday, August 19
- 10 a.m.: Join us for coffee and pastelitos while attending University of Miami McKnight Brain Institute “Nine Necessities of Healthy Aging” presentation.
- 1 p.m.: Join Michie Olivia with CapTel “Get a CapTel Captioned Telephone at No Cost.“ CapTel displays every word your caller says throughout the conversation.
Wednesday, August 20
- 9:30 a.m.: Join us for Breakfast with a Speaker. Ms. Delia Romero, from Interim Healthcare Services and Dr. Hana Finn from Miami Podiatry, P.A. will be sharing tips on how to maintain optimal foot health.
- 11 a.m.: Join the Coral Gables Crime Watch, The Florida Department of Agriculture & Consumer Services and the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission for an information meeting about identity theft, investment scams and fraud.
- 12 p.m.: An informational meeting about who and what Crime Watch is. Find out what is happening in our City, how to avoid crime and stay safe. Lunch will be provided.
- 12:30 p.m.: Join the City of Coral Gables Police Department for a Self-Defense class.
- 1:30 p.m.: Join the City of Coral Gables Fire Department for Adult CPR and First-Aid training.
- 2:30 p.m.: Join our Coral Gables Fire Department for the city's very first Pet CPR session. Only service animals are permitted inside the facility.
- 3:30 p.m.: Join the American Automobile Association (AAA) for traffic safety tips and techniques to help drivers with managing risk and driving defensively in a variety of situations.
Thursday, August 21
- 10 a.m.: Join Arthur Currie from Home Watch CareGivers and Viviana Laboy of 305 Seniors, connecting seniors with local services within the community.
- 1 p.m.: Join Open Arms Community Center with a presentation on Aging-in-Place - Older Adults Home Modification Program (OAHMP).
- 2:30 p.m.: Experience informative physician lectures, health screenings, and more with Baptist Health.
Friday, August 22
- 9 a.m.: Join Attorney Steve Lindle speak on Florida Elder Law, Medicaid Planning & Estate Administration.
- 11: 30 a.m.: An informative presentation on the cryptocurrency BITCOIN. Lunch will be be provided by The Palace.
- 1 p.m.: The week concludes with an "End of Summer Ice Cream Social." Join us as we say farewell to summer and enjoy an afternoon with friends.

Complimentary valet parking is available across the street at The Palace. Free parking is available in the garage above the building with validation. To receive validation, bring your ticket with you inside to the Registration Office.
