Keep Coral Gables Beautiful (KCGB), a City of Coral Gables program, will host a volunteer planting event on Saturday, June 27, from 9 to 11 a.m. at the War Memorial Youth Center, 405 University Drive.
Volunteers will help create a red, white and blue landscape display around the Youth Center’s Blue Star Memorial, which honors those currently serving in the U.S. Armed Forces. The project is supported by a Blue/Gold Star Memorial Grant from Keep America Beautiful and aligns with the nationwide America250 commemoration leading up to Independence Day.
The planting effort will enhance a meaningful civic space for residents and visitors while reinforcing the city’s commitment to community beautification, service and patriotic remembrance.
