Join us at the annual City of Coral Gables Festival of Lights Chanukah Celebration with the participation of the mayor and commissioners. Admission is free. 

There will be a firetruck parade and gelt drop, live music, and hot potato latkes and traditional Chanukah doughnuts will be served. There will also be a free raffle for all participants. 

As part of our holiday toy drive, participants are asked to please bring an unwrapped gift to the event, to be distributed to children who are ill, to give them the joy of Chanukah.

The event is sponsored by Dr. Barry Burak of Affiliated Healthcare Centers, and will be emceed by Spencer Aronfeld, Esq.

Parachute Gelt Drop

The Chanukah celebration will feature a firetruck parade and – for the first time in Coral Gables – a Menorah and Dreidel Parachute Drop from on top of Coral Gables’ Ladder Firetruck, 75 feet high. Our local Coral Gables firefighters will affix a large Menorah to their truck, and will shower down the menorah and dreidel parachutes along with chocolate gelt (coins) to the delight of all participants.
