The Gables Good Government Committee, a political advocacy organization in Coral Gables, will bestow its "Excellence in Public Service" Award on former Mayor Dorothy Thomson, honoring her for years of public service and commitment to the City Beautiful.

The ceremony will take place May 21at the Coral Gables Museum. Refreshments will be served from 6 to 6:30 p.m. The program will run 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.
