The Historic Association of Coral Gables invites the community to a champagne soirée celebrating two milestones: the 100th anniversary of the Chinese Village and the organization’s 35th anniversary. Guests will enjoy a rare private tour and lecture at one of Coral Gables’ most distinctive historic enclaves, led by Boyuon Zhang, AIA, senior associate at Robert A.M. Stern Architects and a leading scholar on Henry Killam Murphy on Sunday, May 3, 3 to 5 p.m. 

Originally commissioned by George Merrick, the Chinese Village was designed by Yale architect Henry Killam Murphy, who pioneered “adaptive architecture,” blending traditional Chinese design with modern techniques.
