The City of Coral Gables wants to give residents the opportunity to review and provide their input regarding a roundabout project at Biltmore Way and Anderson Road on May 12, 2026. The project’s objective is to increase safety, provide pedestrian connectivity by adding new crosswalks, and enhance traffic operations at this intersection. At the public meeting, the city will present two design concepts and gather resident feedback through a question answer session.

Residents can attend the meeting in person or join virtually via the zoom link above.

Location: City of Coral Gables Police and Fire Headquarters, 2151 Salzedo St, Coral Gables, FL 33134 Community Meeting Room.

Why are we improving the intersection?

The intersection at Biltmore Way and Anderson Road currently operates as a two-way stop, which increases safety risks. Preliminary roundabout concepts are being explored as a safer, more efficient alternative for all users.

Key Benefits

Safer for Everyone: Roundabouts reduce the severity of crashes by slowing traffic and eliminating conflicts.

Less Waiting, More Moving: Traffic flows continuously, which means fewer stops and smoother travel.

Calmer Traffic Speeds: The design naturally slows vehicles, creating a safer environment.

Safer Pedestrian Crossings: Crosswalks are placed a short distance away from the circulating roadway, which gives drivers more time to spot pedestrians before entering the crosswalk.

Enhanced Streetscape: Landscaping and decorative paving can soften hard infrastructure.
