In May 2024, the City of Coral Gables appointed Monica Beltran as Director of Parking and Mobility Services. In this role, she manages approximately 8,000 public parking spaces, a fixed-route trolley service and Freebee. The Coral Gables transit system transports 1.25 million passengers annually. In addition, she manages the Block-by-Block customer and custodial service program that operates in the Central Business District of Coral Gables. Going forward, she will focus on improving our city’s parking systems, enhancing mobility and ensuring the sustainability of transportation services to meet the needs of our residents and visitors.

Prior to joining Coral Gables, Beltran served as parking director of the City of Miami Beach. Under her leadership, the department greatly increased operational efficiency and profitability, even amidst challenging times. Prior to her tenure at the City of Miami Beach, she was the Director of Landside Operations at Miami International Airport, shaping major developments in airport parking and transportation management.

Beltran brings over three decades of extensive experience in parking management and mobility services, which will be instrumental in the ongoing efforts to enhance the city's transportation solutions.

Beltran holds a Master of Public Administration and a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish and French from Florida International University. She is also a Certified Parking Professional recognized by the National Parking Association, demonstrating her deep knowledge and commitment to the field.
