Accessible Recreation Program

The objective of this program is to provide enjoyable recreational experiences to all participants through inclusive programming, accessible facility design, and the provision of accommodations. This program is a three-tier initiative designed to identify and meet the recreational needs of underserved populations within the community.

Tier One: Inclusion

This phase will provide immediate training and support to maximize inclusion opportunities for participants in existing City recreation programs. 

Tier Two: Adaptive Programming and Events

This phase will establish new programs and events specifically designed to meet the unique needs of special population groups within recreation. 

Tier Three: Transition Support

This phase will introduce programs through external partnerships, to support young adults with disabilities to transition from recreation youth programs into volunteer positions to promote self-determination and provide valuable work experience.

Use the free app to discover exciting activities hidden in our parks. Each Park’s Bound has 10 challenges for players to complete and earn points. Challenges include Coral Gables history, fitness, wellness, imagination and nature exploration tasks. Discover a new park each week.
