Fitness & Athletics Programs
Equipment: Team athletic equipment is provided by Coral Gables Community Recreation.
Uniforms: Uniforms are provided by the Coral Gables Parks and Recreation Division. Full uniforms must be worn by all participants in order to participate in games. Shoes, shin guards, knee guards etc. are the responsibility of the participant.
Transportation: Players are responsible for their own transportation to and from practices and games.
Registration: Registration for athletic programs is accepted Monday-Friday from 8 a.m. - 8 p.m. and Saturdays from 8 a.m. - 12 p.m., at the Coral Gables War Memorial Youth Center located at 405 University Drive. All participants must present a birth certificate with the appropriate age by the start of the program at the time of registration.
Volunteer Coaches: The Coral Gables Youth Center athletics programs are supported by volunteer coaches, made primarily of parents. If you are interested in volunteering your time as a coach, please contact Carlos Pichardo at (305) 460-5600 for more details. Thank you to all our Current Volunteers!
The mission of the program is to provide community youth with a recreational basketball opportunity. The program has adopted the philosophy of a fun, non-pressured, 'athlete first and winning second', environment. To ensure the quality of the athletic program, children need the parents' commitment to attend practices and games. All practices will be held at the Youth Center.
Divisions: 7-8 years old: Monday/Wednesday 6 - 7 p.m. 9-10 years old: Tuesday/Thursday 6 - 7 p.m. 11-12 years old: Monday/Wednesday 7 - 8 p.m. 13-15 years old: Tuesday/Thursday 7 - 8 p.m.

Blue Devils Baseball program is an instructional baseball program where participants will learn the fundamentals of baseball while playing in a league. Participants will receive specialized instruction on throwing, catching, batting, fielding and agility. Players will learn all aspects of baseball to prepare them for the next level of play.
6 years old: 7 years old Monday and Wednesdays, 5 - 6:30 p.m. 8 years old: 9 years old Monday and Wednesdays, 6 - 7:30 p.m. 10 years old: 12 years old Tuesdays and Thursdays, 6 - 8 p.m.

Gables Elite Soccer Camps at the War Memorial Youth Center offer campers ages 5 - 16 the opportunity to master new skills in a fun and competitive environment.
Classes run Monday-Friday from 5 - 6:30 p.m. for 5 - 12-year-olds and from 6:30 - 8 p.m. for 13 - 16-year-olds.

The goal of this program is to develop the fundamentals of ball handling, shooting, and passing skills. Players will progress through basic techniques into drills and mini-games. Practices will be held at the Coral Gables Youth Center, 405 University Drive.

The Coral Gables Youth Center is proud to present an exciting 3 on 3 basketball competition for boys and girls ages 15-18 years old. Form your own team and sign up for this great opportunity to play half-court basketball and improve your skills. No practices, no coaches, just competitive games.

Get those feet moving and kicking! In this introductory soccer program, children will learn the basics: footwork, technique, and other fun drills. Each player will be required to supply their own soccer ball. There will be no scrimmages or games held. Group sizes will be small and limited to eight players in session. Physical distancing and facial covering rules will be strictly enforced.
