Merrick House Temporarily Closed to Visitors

The Coral Gables Merrick House, the childhood home of the city’s founder George Merrick, will be closed to visitors during July. The house at 907 Coral Way is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and showcases the family’s legacy. Guided tours are offered Saturdays and Sundays, re-starting on Aug. 6.

“We look forward to welcoming our volunteer docents and visitors back in August,” said Warren Adams, the city’s director of Historical and Cultural Resources. “This house which has been beautifully restored to the 1920s period, provides a great opportunity to view the family’s art, furniture, and personal treasures.”

And speaking of the Merrick House has recently been named the Best Historic Landmark in the New Times Best of Miami 2022 list. All the more reason to visit!
