Coral Gables Invites Everyone to Attend PARK(ING) Day 2019 on Friday September 20th
PARK(ING) Day is an opportunity for people to temporarily turn on-street parking spaces into public places. This international event raises awareness about the importance of a walkable, livable, healthy city and helps people re-think how our streets can be used. PARK(ING) Day 2019 is taking place on Friday, September 20th.
If you are participating in and/or attending the Coral Gables PARK(ING) Day and would like to share photos from the event please tag @cityofcoralgables on social media (Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram) and use the hashtags #CGPARKINGDAY2019 and #parkingday. Below is a list of participating businesses, locations, and the hours each location will be open. Please stop by and visit each location which will include games, activities, etc.

Any use of the right-of-way, including the use of on-street parking spaces for PARK(ING) Day, requires a permit. Where in the City is PARK(ING) Day taking place?
PARK(ING) Day is taking place all over the City. Businesses/individuals can request to reserve on-street parking spaces throughout the City to participate in the event.
What hours can my park be open?
Your park can be open between 7:00 am and midnight. All set-up and tear down must happen within these hours, however, upon review of application, Public Works may further restrict set-up and tear down times based on rush hour traffic.
Can a participating business use any parts of the sidewalk during the event?
The sidewalk cannot be used as an addition to and/or substitution for the parking spaces because it can obstruct pedestrian mobility. The sidewalk can only be used during set up and pick up and all loading and unloading activities must ensure pedestrian and vehicle mobility.
How large is a typical parking space?
A typical parking space that is 90 degrees is 19 feet and a parallel parking space is 22 feet.
