Inauguration of new Police and Fire Headquarters

Recently, the City of Coral Gables held a ribbon cutting ceremony to inaugurate the completion of its new state-of-the-art Police and Fire Headquarters. This facility serves as the public safety building and also houses the 911 Call Center and First Responders Dispatch Center, Emergency Operations Command Center, Fire Station 1, as well as the Communications and Information Technology (IT) Departments. The $68 million, 200,000 square foot, five-story structure is located at 2151 Salzedo Street, and includes the office building, as well as a 163-space secured parking garage. “The new Police and Fire headquarters will help us better serve Coral Gables residents and enhance communication between our frontline workers,” said Coral Gables City Manager, Peter J. Iglesias. “This facility also ensures our officers and fire fighters have the highest quality facilities, training and response technology.”
