Painted Steel

Currently installed in front of City Hall at Le Jeune Road & Coral Way.

The sculpture titled Pause by Rafael Barrios is painted stainless steel, over fifteen-feet tall, ten-inches wide, and approximately eight-hundred pounds. Four three-dimensional rectangles, starting with one at the bottom, overlap slightly on a vertical plane reaching into the sky. The artist explores and sculpts concepts that challenge our perception of depth and movement, encouraging a sense of curiosity and wonder.

Plans for the location of the sculpture Pause indicate its permanent location on the south end of Ponce de Leon park where it will be moved in 2021.
