Historical Resources and Cultural Arts

Dona Spain is a long-time resident of Coral Gables. She is a graduate of the University of Miami with a Bachelor degree in Architecture and a Master degree in Suburb and Town Design. She joined the city in 1997 and has worked in various departments since then. Dona is on the Executive Board of Dade Heritage Trust and is a member of the Florida and National Trust for Historic Preservation.

To promote the historic heritage of the City through the local historic designation and design review process with educational programs and publications, to manage City-owned historic properties, to maintain the archives and collections related to the original development; and to celebrate the past, present and future of the City through the Museum Division.

Please be advised that beginning Tuesday, February 20, 2018, the Historical Resources & Cultural Arts Department will be implementing Office Hours for plan reviews. If you need to meet with our Staff for plan reviews for Board of Architects or other reviews our hours are as follows

8 a.m. – 11 a.m.
