US-1 / S. Dixie Hwy Corridor Study

The City of Coral Gables worked with Perkins+Will, an interdisciplinary research-

US1 Map Image Study Area based architecture and design firm, to develop a So. Dixie Highway Corridor Study for the section of US-1 that falls within City boundaries (approximately 2.5 miles).

The objective was to explore – in partnership with resident and business stakeholders, County and State regulatory agencies – existing and potential future redevelopment scenarios along the City’s portion of the Corridor.

Due to several changing circumstances, the City is no longer pursuing the remaining elements of the US 1/So. Dixie Highway Corridor Study effort. The initial phases that were conducted have provided valuable information with respect to existing conditions on the corridor, and community sentiments received over the course of several community forums. This information will help to inform the City in its various efforts along the corridor moving forward. Please find the work conducted for the initial phases below.
