The Development Review Committee (DRC) meets on the Friday before the last Friday of the month, and is an administrative and technical committee that provides input on technical issues raised by a development project for consistency with policies established by the City Commission, specifically the Zoning Code and the City Code. The DRC is composed of representatives from the following disciplines: Planning and Zoning, Building, Fire, Police, Public Services, Historical Resources, Parking, Public Works, and other departments as determined by the City Manager. The Chairperson is designated by the Development Services Director. Although the Committee meetings are open to the public, no decision is made at the meeting and public comment is not intended to be solicited. (Sec. 2-803 Zoning Code)
Due to COVID-19 recommendations, all DRC meetings are currently virtual via Zoom. Members of the public can participate in any scheduled meeting using the Zoom information found in each individual DRC meeting agenda below.
Applicants are encouraged to pay all DRC application fees after submittal of required hardcopies using the Online Services.
Comments given by the DRC members are publicly available after each monthly meeting under "Actions" when viewing the "Development Review Committee" permit type using the Online Services.
Effective September 23rd, 2014 the City of Coral Gables now requires a tree survey and tree protection plan when applying for an application for Development Review Committee.
