All membership types have access to complimentary group fitness classes. Space is limited.
Members are solely responsible for the registration and cancellation of their classes.
Substitute instructors may fill in as needed to cover for scheduled instructors.
Exercise and Fitness Class Descriptions:
AQUA FIT: Aqua fit uses both the deep and shallow areas of the pool to give you a great low-impact workout. Instructors will use a variety of class formats and equipment to help increase cardiovascular endurance, muscle strength, tone and flexibility.
BODY SCULPT: Uses your body weight and dumbbells to promote fat loss, muscle strength and tone.
BODY TONE: The Body tone workout concentrates on all major muscle groups using calisthenics, exertubes, medicine balls, and light dumbbells to provide varying resistance.
BOOT CAMP: An outdoor group exercise class that mixes traditional calisthenic and bodyweight exercises with interval and strength training. This class is designed to make you sweat and is similar to a military-style boot camp. It incorporates pushups, plyometrics, squats, lunges, squat thrusts or burpees, speed training with sprints to promote core strength.
CORE BLAST: This 30-minute workout focuses on toning and defining the abdominal muscles and strengthening the back to improve posture and core strength.
CROSS TRAINING: A combination of cardiovascular exercises and strength movement that build strength and conditioning through extremely varied and challenging workouts. Each class will test different parts of your functional strength and conditioning, not specializing in one particular thing, but rather with the goal of building and working the entire body.
HATHA YOGA: Most yoga styles are incorporated into this class including Asana and Pranayama to help bring peace to the mind and body and helps improve strength, balance and flexibility.
KICK BOXING: The workout incorporates functional movement focused on training your core, basic punches, correct footwork, and basic patterns of movement. It is a fun aerobic experience that helps promote weight loss, increase endurance, improve coordination, and is motivating.
PEAK PERFORMANCE: To look like an athlete you need to train line one. Train like a pro using a variety of exercises and specialized equipment that athletes use to increase their performance. This class promotes weight loss, while improving your strength, endurance and agility.
PILATES: A body conditioning that helps build flexibility, lean muscles, strength, and endurance in the legs, abdominals, arms, hips, and back and improves coordination and balance. Class emphasizes spinal and pelvic alignment, breathing to relieve stress and adequate oxygen flow to muscles. Helps develop a strong core while toning abdominals and strengthening the back.
SPINNING: This class combines high- intensity, no-impact training and will work your legs, glutens, heart, lungs and sweat glands. Classes are set to heart-pumping music, intense lighting effects and feature changes in speed and intensity. Over 600 calories can be burned during one session on our top-of-the-line StarTrac Spinner Blades.
STRETCHING: A 30-minute full body stretch using movements that flow smoothly to increase flexibility, decrease muscle tension, develop core strength, and improve muscular balance.
SWIM-PRO: This performance-based swimming class is designed to make you a faster, more efficient swimmer. Interval training, kicking, and swimming drills are incorporated to improve speed and endurance. Land-based stretching and core work are also included. Class will improve overall aerobic fitness and flexibility. This class is for members 13 and up. Participants must be able to swim a minimum of 100 yards.
YOGA (LEVEL 1: BEGINERS): A variation of Hatha and restorative yoga with simple and basic postures for all levels. Being able to sit on the floor is required. This yoga class helps fortify and stretch all muscles while relaxing the body. Less effort is required with the help of props such as bolsters, straps and blocks. Gravity is used to help release tension and relax the body and mind.
VINYASA YOGA: Connects individual poses or “asanas” with deep breaths or “pranayama” in a series of flowing sequences of movement.
YOGA FLOW: Incorporates energetic movement through a series of Asanas, promoting a sense of fluid physical motion matched with breathing.
ZUMBA: Incorporates a variety of Latin-inspired dance moves and music to promote fat loss, muscle tone and cardio fitness.
