Peter J. Iglesias, P.E. was appointed as City Manager of Coral Gables on September 25, 2018. As City Manager, Iglesias oversees a municipal government of more than 51,000 residents and 1,100 employees, and manages an operating budget of $195 million as well as a five-year capital plan of $220 million. He is the City’s top administrator reporting to the Mayor and four City Commissioners.
Prior to his selection as City Manager, Iglesias served as Assistant City Manager of Operations and Infrastructure for two-years. Before joining Coral Gables, he served as the Senior Director of Building, Planning and Zoning, Historical and IT Integration at the City of Miami.
He has more than 35-years of management experience in both the private and public sectors and was recently recognized as Engineer of the Year for his professionalism and commitment to advancing the role of engineers by the Association of Cuban American Engineers (ACAE). Iglesias is a University of Miami graduate and holds a Bachelor of Science in Engineering.
