Update on COVID-19 vaccine for residents
The City of Coral Gables Division of Emergency Management is coordinating closely with Miami-Dade County Emergency Management, the Florida Department of Health, and community health partners to provide access to vaccination for our residents.
With the limited number of vaccinations our City was allotted, our Fire Department deployed a preliminary plan for the vaccination of a small number of residents over the age of 65; in accordance with the guidance set forth by the State of Florida and the CDC. Currently demand is outpacing the vaccine supply; however, the City continues to work on any and all opportunities that may provide access to the vaccine for our residents.
Please note that we cannot determine when additional vaccines will be available, as a result; we are not compiling a list. The City of Coral Gables will continue to ensure its residents remain informed and updated on the latest COVID-19 developments as this is an everchanging situation. We strongly encourage residents interested in getting vaccinated, to visit the City’s website (coralgables.com/COVID) for activated vaccination locations. For distribution information of the COVID-19 vaccine in Florida, visit the Florida Department of Health.
The FDOH may be reached at 1-866-779-6121 or via email at COVIDfirstname.lastname@example.org.
Floridians are also encouraged to opt-in to receive updates about the COVID-19 vaccine via text. Floridians can receive these text updates by texting FLCOVID19 to 888777
