Reopening Coral Gables

The City of Coral Gables, in accordance with the latest Federal, State and Miami-Dade County health guidelines, and in collaboration with community stakeholders, will begin systematically reopening the City. This process will occur in phases with specific guidelines for implementation.

All establishments are allowed to open provided each complies with certain requirements and the activity-specific requirements that can be found in the Miami-Dade County New Normal Handbook. To view all Emergency Orders, click here.

The City of Coral Gables has begun the reopening of the local economy through the safe, responsible and strategic opening of specific businesses, with strict guidelines. All impacted establishments are required to maintain health protocols to protect the public health and safety of all employees and residents by adhering to the standards outlined in the Miami-Dade County handbook titled The New Normal. All customers of these establishments must wear a face mask and keep a 6-foot distance from other individuals or family groups. For the safety of everyone, customers must also abide by new health and operational rules as listed at each business.

Coral Gables Parks and Recreational Facilities

In order to better serve our residents and patrons, the City of Coral Gables will expand on its park and facility hours as part of its reopening plan: 

  • Film and Photo Permits have resumed with restrictions. Request your permit today at 305-460-5607.

  • Parks and Open Spaces above 1 acre in size will now be open Monday - Sunday from 8 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. 

  • The Youth Center Field is now open Monday - Friday, from 8:00 8:00 p.m. and Saturday from 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. for single and family use.

  • The Granada Golf Course is open Monday - Sunday, from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.

  • The Salvadore Tennis Center is open Monday - Friday, from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Saturday - Sunday, from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.

  • The William H. Kerdyk Biltmore Tennis Center is open Monday - Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Saturday – Sunday from 7:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

  • Both tennis centers will be open for social play with limited courts for private lessons.

  • The senior exclusive hour at Salvadore Tennis, Granada Golf Course and Philips Park will remain: Tuesdays & Thursdays from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. and will now include the use of singles Pickle Ball at Salvadore Tennis.

  • The use of limited pro-shop sales will now be permitted to include prepackaged and single-use goods.

  • The rental of limited golf carts will now be permitted at the Granada Golf Course with advanced reservations.  Cart rentals are limited to one person per cart.

  • All open facilities are now available to both Coral Gables residents and non-residents.  Reservations must be made in advance.  Walk-ins will not be honored.

Please keep in mind that all open facilities require reservations in advance with credit card as the only form of payment.

While we are facing a temporary setback on reopening some of our favorite facilities such as the Venetian Pool, the War Memorial Youth Center and the Adult Activity Center, we want you to know that when the time is right we will be ready to safely welcome you back in.

In an effort to contain the potential spread of the Coronavirus, the City has placed strict guidelines for the use of these facilities, which include wearing a face covering at all times. All guidelines will be enforced.
