The Edible Community Gardens Project, a non-for-profit organization that is passionate about community and organic gardening, presents the first of a series of events called “Sundays on the Porch with George.”
The ice cream social takes place at the Merrick House, this Sunday, April 15, from 3-6 p.m. The Merrick House is the boyhood home of City founder George Merrick and is located at 907 Coral Way.
Please join us for ice cream from Azucar Ice Cream Company, plus live music from the local band Southbound Suspects, great raffle prizes, tours of the Merrick House, games and other activities for children. Tickets are $20 for adults; children under 18 years of age are free. Funds will benefit the organic garden at the Merrick House. We encourage you to ride your bikes, bring a blanket and refreshments of your choice. Limited space is available, so please RSVP to exileatmed@comcast.net.
The Edible Community Gardens Project also offers free classes every Friday at 9:30 a.m. on how to grow your own organic garden.
