Mayor Jim Cason traded the dais for a pitcher’s mound during the University of Miami’s series opener against North Carolina earlier this month. Mayor Cason participated in the opening ceremony and threw the first pitch along with South Florida baseball legend Red Berry. Cason took to the field and threw a sizzling slider to home plate. The Hurricanes swept the series with the Tar Heels.
