"African Americans in Times of War"
Lunch and Presentation
Date: 2/22/2018 11:30 AM - 2:00 PM
Cost: Free

The ELC Café: It’s More Than Just Lunch—is back! On Thursday, February 22nd, the Early Learning Coalition of Miami-Dade/Monroe will honor Black History Month for the 3rd year in a row. This year, we’ll be following the national theme: “African Americans in Times of War.”

Our panel represents a range of distinguished veterans and academics whose service and scholarly work bring home to South Florida the impact African Americans have made and continue to make during times of war both at home and abroad. Join us as we uncover the unknown and little-known facts, both historic and present-day, surrounding African Americans in times of war.

A delicious ‘southern style’ meal generously sponsored by House of Hope (Martin County)

Several of our panelists are published authors and are bringing books along to raffle!
