CULTURAL GRANTS WORKSHOP
The City of Coral Gables invites nonprofit 501(c)(3), 501(c)(4) cultural organizations to attend the annual Cultural Grants Workshop/Public Meeting with the City’s Cultural Development Board and staff. The workshop is for the purpose of explaining the grant process and answer any questions.
ALL applicants must attend.
The workshop is held annually:
The last Thursday in August
Coral Gables Youth Center, Theater
405 University Avenue
Organizations must have staff, board member, or volunteer representation present. It is highly recommended to have the person who will be writing the grant attend the workshop.
It is the organization's responsibility to sign-in to ensure that this requirement is met. Organizations failing to be in attendance, and recorded as such, will automatically be disqualified from consideration for that year's Cultural Grant funding.
Following confirmation of attendance, applicants complete the Eligibility Determination (referred to as the LOI) to access the Cultural Development Application.
• Coral Gables Based Cultural Organization (CGB), provides up to $10,000 in general operating support for cultural organizations based in Coral Gables with operating budgets over $500,000;
• Cultural Series, Festivals, and Special Events (CS), providing up to $10,000 for ongoing programs to be held in Coral Gables, and
• Community (C), providing up to $5,000 for small community-based, one-day cultural programs that are free, cultural events serving Coral Gables.
Workshop topics include eligibility, required documents, allowable grant expenditures, evaluation criteria, agreement terms, and the on-line grant application process.
