The rewrite will include new and innovative planning processes to address future residential and commercial development with the intent to continue the preservation/protection of the character of the residential neighborhoods in concert with commercial uses. The City welcomes your participation. The next public hearings are scheduled for Wednesday, October 27, and Wednesday, November 10 for a discussion of all zoning districts. The Planning and Zoning Board review/hearings will be conducted in the City Hall Commission Chambers, Second Floor, at 4 p.m., with informal study sessions beginning an hour earlier at 3 p.m. for residents to provide comments or ask questions. Copies of the revised Code are available in the Planning Department at City Hall or can be downloaded at www.coralgables.com. The honor was bestowed to the City's Procurement Department for having demonstrated excellence in public procurement through the accomplishments of rigorous standards and best practices. The award serves as part of a program designed to work as a self-evaluation process based on the NIGP's agency accreditation criteria. The City of Coral Gables is one of only 77 governmental agencies throughout the United States and Canada who have attained this distinction among the NIGP's 2,100 governmental members. For the first time this year, nominations will be accepted from anyone — homeowners, professional landscapers, neighbors or the general public — to award deserving property owners within Coral Gables. The awards will recognize improvements to property landscaping that result in improving the overall aesthetics of the City. This blockage in service is caused by filters placed in outside poles of residences which need to be reported in order to be removed.
