Gables Trolley Continues to Surpass Expectations; Adds New Routes  >>>  The Coral Gables Trolley, once expected to bring in 1,000 passengers a day and 250,000 passengers total during its first year, is now carrying more than double those numbers and has become the favorite mode of transportation for many who work in and visit the downtown area. By the end of 2004, a little over the end of its first year, the trolleys had carried 514,603 riders. The total number of riders to date is 521,923. To meet surging demand, the trolley system has expanded its Miracle Mile route with new stops at the Hyatt Hotel, the Omni Colonnade, the Biltmore Hotel, the historic Venetian Pool, and the Coral Gables Congregational Church. Look in your mailboxes soon for postcards with a map and more details on the new route. The trolleys: they're free, fuel-efficient, and fabulous. Hop on today.
