CLUB P.L.A.Y. Summer Camp
  Back to Summer Camps

Kindergarten - 5th Grade

The City of Coral Gables has established relationships with cities from around the world through Sister Cities International; an organization designed to create opportunities for cultural exchange at the municipal, county and state level. Choosing our Sister Cities as the focal point of Summer Camp, we will celebrate with our theme of “United We Play”. Six of the weeks of Summer Camp will be individually focused on each Sister City and its culture. We will visit our Sister City in France, Italy, Columbia, Spain, Guatemala and Ecuador. In addition to having a great time visiting local field trip sites and enjoying camp activities that will promote teamwork and unity; your children will also be learning about each Sister City through arts and crafts, cooking and special events that are unique to our Sister Cities. This Summer Camp experience will be an exciting learning opportunity that will leave lasting memories and develop life long friendships for your children.

Join us as we kick off the summer and start making new friends. Learn about our theme for this summer and get a preview of what to expect for the upcoming weeks. Enjoy a nice day in the sun at T.Y. Castaway Island and keep your arms in the vehicle as we take you on an airboat ride at the Everglades Outpost.

Session 2: Pisa, Italy (June 11 - June 15)
We introduce the first of our six Sister Cities as we begin our tour in Pisa, Italy. Be an adult for a day during our visit to Wannado City. Be a doctor, firefighter, detective, pilot, artist or any of the many careers available for you to explore at Wannado City. After your hard day at “work” enjoy a relaxing day floating along the lazy river at McDonald Water Park.

Session 3: Wet-n-Wild (June 18 - June 22)
It’s going to be a long hot summer, so we have to make sure we are fully hydrated. Pack your swimming gear, it’s time for a water break. Enjoy a week filled with wet-n-wild games on the field and take the plunge down the Tsunami slide. During our visit to CB Smith Water Park, grab a friend and race them down the dueling slides, and don’t forget to say “Hi”, to Lolita and her friends as we visit the Miami Seaquarium.

Session 4: Granada, Spain (June 25 - June 29)
After that refreshing water break it’s time to get things rolling and learn about our second Sister City. Prepare to stay dry most of the week and put on your game face. Challenge some friends to a game of miniature golf at Boomers and see who can get the most strikes at Bird Bowl.

Session 5: Coral Gables, Florida (July 2 - July 6) No Camp July 4th (Pro Rated)
Team up with your fellow campers and take down the counselors at Laser Quest. Get out your walking shoes as we try to get a glimpse of the wild animals at the Metro Zoo.

Session 6: Aix-en-Provence, France (July 9 - July 13)
Its time to get back on track and visit our third Sister City in France. If you’re interested in marine life the Key Biscayne Nature center is the place for you. Explore the coastline with your guides and later in the week practice your breast stroke at Milander Aquatic Center.

Session 7: Cartagena, Colombia (July 16 - July 20)
Road Trip! It’s a long bus ride down to Key Largo but its worth it. Be on time so you can enjoy a voyage on the glass bottom boat at John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park. Strap on your skates and show us your moves at Super Wheels.

Session 8: La Antigua, Guatemala (July 23 - July 27)
Learn about one of the most popular pastimes in our fifth Sister City as you take a trip to the IGFA Fishing Hall of Fame.
From fire to ice, open your closet and dust off your sweater cause it’s time to go skating at the Kendall Ice Arena.

Session 9: Quito, Ecuador (July 30 - August 3)
It’s been a great summer, so enjoy a leisurely week going down many water slides at CB Smith Water Park. We will also exercise your mind at the Museum of Discovery and Science.

Session 10: Back Home in the USA (August 6 - August 10)
It’s time to say goodbye to our new friends and get ready for back to school. But first, get lost with us at Parrot Jungle during this last week of camp. We will also fill our stomachs with popcorn and all things junk food as we enjoy a relaxing day at the movies.
