While working in an unmarked patrol detail, reference recent burglaries both to business and vehicles in the area between Ponce De Leon Blvd/ LeJeune Rd and South of Bird Road, Officer Scott Selent was able to locate and arrest an offender of a vehicle burglary.

The following is an account of what occurred: while on patrol he observed a black male walking through the business district in the early morning hours. He stopped the individual to see what he was doing in the area, the individual immediately tried to conceal the items he was carrying. The officer called for additional units to check the area for burglaries of any businesses or vehicles in the area. Officers responded and located two vehicles had been broken into. Officer Scott Selent investigated further as to the items the individual was carrying; he discovered broken glass in one of the bags, which was later determined to be from one of the vehicles burglarized. Search incident to arrest of the individual revealed he had glass on his person located in his socks and shoes.

One of the victim’s was able to positively identify his property that the offender had in his possession.
