Our department consists of 129 fire personnel (>90% paramedics), 21 administrative personnel and 3 fire stations that cover an area of 14 square miles with approximately 43,000 residents. Our commitment to the community allows our residents and visitors requesting our services to have the expectations that they will receive a timely response by well trained and professional firefighters. Our personnel pride themselves on delivering our services to the residents and visitors of “The City Beautiful” in a courteous, expedient, and exceptional manner. The Fire Department continues to move forward in a consistent and efficient manner. We are always seeking innovative methods to meet the Department’s operational goals and financial needs.

Some important achievements by the Coral Gables Fire Department include being a Class One ISO rated fire department and nationally recognized CFAI Accredited agency. Additionally, we have participated in the State of Florida’s Emergency Medical Clinical Conference and Competition (ClinCon), the Firefighters’ Combat Challenge, numerous extrication competitions, including the International Extrication Competition in Scotland (2000), and the World Extrication Championship in Africa (2001) where we won the World Championship.

In the future, we will continue to adapt our service delivery model to meet the dynamic challenges we face at the dawn of the 21st century.
